Faith. Family. Finances.
Jessica Coker
As a local accountant, I work with many small businesses who have struggled this year, and I have made it my charge to ensure everyone receives the financial aid they need to get through. That level of commitment is what I show to my clients, and it’s what I’ll show to the people of District Six too.
I feel called to serve the people of Spartanburg County.
I’ll work with the County Council to make sure as much money is kept in residents’ pockets as possible so we can build a better, stronger, and more secure future for the next generation.
Both my husband and I were born and raised in Spartanburg, and we currently live in Roebuck with our 3 year old son and a second child on the way. I love everything about Spartanburg County, but the people of District 6 make it a special place to call home.
As a graduate of Dorman High School, I’ve been a part of this community since I was a child and have been excited to see it grow. But I also know how important it is to preserve our past for the future.
I have a passion for history and conservation and ensure history is passed down from generation to generation by serving as the Treasurer of the Spartanburg County Historical Association and the Treasurer of the Glenn Springs Preservation Society.

I am a graduate of Dorman High School. I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and a Masters of Professional Accountancy with a concentration in Taxation from Clemson University. My mother and I are partners in the accounting firm Smith and Coker LLC, located in downtown Spartanburg. My faith and family are the most important things to me, but a close third is my clients. During this year of economic struggle, I worked pro-bono for over fifty of my small business clients to assist them in applying for financial aid, including Small Business Administration loans and other state and local assistance programs. I work diligently every day advocating for taxpayers, and I will continue that advocacy on County Council.
I enjoy giving back my time and expertise. I currently serve as the Treasurer of the Spartanburg County Historical Association and the Treasurer of the Glenn Springs Preservation Society. I have a passion for history and conservation. I am a lifetime learner. I am always pushing myself to read more or try something new. To be more self-reliant, I have a life goal to have a small homestead. Currently, we have a small garden and 15 chickens.
